piston's


i'm in the process of puling the motor out of my notch,gonna clean the engine cpartment and paint it,,how can i tell what year motor and type of pistons are in it,,,the pistons have 4 valve reliefs and a small dish in the center,,

The number on the block will give you the year. Sounds like stock pistons.

did 1986 5.0s have forged pistons?

82GT is an unknown quantity at this point

1986 pistons wouldn't of had valve reliefs, they would be completly flat.
