if the starter relay on the fenderwall is bad will that make the car not start as if the battery doesnt have enough juice

it wouldn't crank at all if the relay was out. sounds like your battery is drained.

glad to hear you got that alt put in...unfortunately reads like that might be the issue...are you positive you installed it correctly? might want to go back over everything to make sure. good luck and let us know

check all of your grounds... to engine block, to starter, and the one going from block to firewall. make sure they're good/clean connections to bare metal. also, it's a good idea to add a ground, from the block or cylinder head to the swaybar mount.

i hear ya, BTDT. just take a break and resume when you're ready. in the meantime read up on possible solutions. believe me when you solve the problem you'll feel great. good luck

im done for the night, is too cold out and the daylight savings nonsense. i spend my paycheck on the battery and alternator and my car still sits in my backyard.

the story goes like this. head gasket blew so i changed them car was good couple days later battery craps out on me. bought a walmart cheap, lasted for 3weeks or so. then the other night i was showin the gf how to drive stick. she did good 1st the then coming to a stop the car was jerking and such then stalled. then it wouldnt crank. opened hood tapped starter relay, then is started crankin but then the lights went dim as if there was no juice. so i bought a new bosch batt. and 130a alternator and popped that junk in 2day after work. then started it up and it was good. ran if for 20 min turned if off and then when to start it but it wouldnt go. it cranked but the lights went dim and it wouldnt start.

like i said, Been There Done That... i've had to have my GF push start my car before. my 85 was a wiring nightmare. read that article i posted before, but the important bits are as follows: verify good ground connections, add an extra ground, and use fine-stranded battery cables.

BTW, if your GF doesn't F with you too much about your car not starting, keep her around. good girls are hard to find. my2cents

geez, when it rains it pours. hopefully its something simple like a drain pan plug came loose...check it out in the morning and let us know. as for the fact that it wouldn't start up again after fully warmed up, its really starting to sound like a ground problem...not that that means much with your engines "blood" on the ground, but like i said hopefully its something simple.
