opinions?

I'm rebuilding my engine this winter. I bought some holley heads, what intake does anybody suggest without having to spend the money on the systemax intake. Next, after the heads, intake and cam swap how well do you think the 19# inj's will hold up for now? All input is great.

explorer intake...or cobra. they're 99% the same so i would (i did) go with the explorer since it will be cheapest. another option to consider is the pro products typhoon intake...relatively cheap but you may have to clean up some minor casting flaws with a dremel. 19lbs will probably be ok but you'll be at their limit. you really should get 24s.

well i was reading another post and I was thinking about doing the heads and a cam and leaving the intake for now. How do you guys think that will work out. I'm trying to go a little cheaper now because the budget project is getting out hand like usual. I bought the a9l and it came with a fenderwell cai w/ a Pro M 75mm maf calibrated for 19's thats why i'm kinda trying to keep stock injectors for now.

the stock lower intake is even more restrictive than the stock heads, so you should either take it off and port it or find an explorer intake in the junkyard or on ebay if the seller is 100% reputable before you get the heads and cam. or what i would do, is get the heads and an intake and leave the stock cam in there since it's not really that bad. my2cents
