help me with choosing exhaust.

okay so i'm ready to do exhaust, but i'm having trouble deciding what i want. I hear 500 people that don't have mustangs telling me what to get. so i figured i'd ask you guys. I have a friend that works at a performance shop said he can get me a BBK Off-Road X pipe pretty cheap and also a set of equal length BBK headers. but i'm not sure if i should go for off road or one with cats...or even BBK any opinions. i posted this in the SN95 section and got no responses so figured i'll try my luck here.

I got mac shorties, mac offroad h-pipe, and mac flowpaths dumped. I like it. But I think the sexiest sounding exhaust is my setup but an offroad x instead of an h. Soon, after I get wheels and make it look cosmetically good, I'm gonna get an offroad x and put some nice chrome tail pipes on. Or I might stay with dumps

Give me a few minutes. I'm uploading one of my car's more embarrasing but humorous moments on Youtube. 4000 RPM clutch dump and falls flat on her face. She's carbureted, and still has the T-5 with the V-6 gears. I laugh every time I see it.

Here it is:

302 with an off-road h-pipe made by somebody, and Flowmaster somethings with dumps right before the rear axle. Very loud inside the car. It falls flat because the fuel pump can't keep up with the fuel demand. I'd adjust the pressure, but I don't care about it. It stalls during hard right turns too. Stop laughing.

i'm at work and it won't let me view the video i'll check it when i get home. But my main focus is i'm looking to pick up about 30 HP from all the exhaust, right now the car is completly stock, no intake, pulley's or anything. I really just want something that will sound deep and raspy at WOT or accelerating but something that you can still listen to the radio when you're just cruising. My friend had off road h pipe and american thunder flowmasters on his 97 GT. and it sounded like shit. But on his 97 Cobra he had magnaflow X pipe with cats, and magnaflow catback and it sounded awesome,But then again i dunno how the sound of a modular motor would compare to that of a pushrod motor. Not to mention the whole magnaflow set up for just x pipe and cat back is about 1000 plus whatever headers i decide to go with. So anyone got anymore advice ??

Flows are gross. If I had to do it again I would probably go with an offroad h and a pypes violator catback or spintech prostreets. Actually I plan on getting one of these catbacks soon. I want something a little more raspy.. just not slp status haha

I hate how they sound. I know a guy that lives around me with a dark purple 96 cobra with lm2's and it sounds disgusting

yea i'll say honestly the magnaflow set up on my friends 97 cobra was the best i've heard...that and bassani...but bassani doesn't make anything to fit my car, and the magnaflow is outragoues as far as price goes. so i was trying to go a little cheaper but i dunno yet.

Don't waste your money on shorty headers. The performance gains are minimal at best on a stock engine. If you want a set of headers get some long tube headers. BBK fits good and works good. If you have emissions testing in your area then you will need a pipe with cats. If you don't have emissions testing then the off road X-pipe is the way to go. Magnaflow makes probably the best flowing muffler on the market so that would be my choice for a cat back system.
