tranny


Can some one please tell me what the model number of a 6 speed tranny is that could work for my 351 fox. like for example t-5 what is it for a 6 speed? and where the hell can i buy one?

I think T56 trannys work. Only six speed I can think of right now..

T-56 would work in theroy but you'll have to probably get a different bellhousing for it to fit on the motor, as well as a shorter drive shaft, in order for it to fit. and the crossmember would probably have to have custom brackets and all...but i could be wrong.

hmm ok thank you very much only reason i am going to a 6 speed is cuz i heard 4.10 gears are to much for a 5 speed.

nah not at all 4.10's on a 5 spd. would probably put you around 2600-2800 rpm's at 60-70 mph, not too bad. My friend drove his 98 Cobra daily with 4.30's in it and he kept the T-45 in his.

i have 4.10's and i was running a t-5 for a while. it isnt as bad as u might think but i didnt do any highway driveing with it. if u were doing any long distince driving then you might want to look at a t-56

I have a 351 stroker bought a t56 from ddperformance.com they have everything for a swap, bellhousing drive shaft and crossmember, and if you buy a used on make sure it came out of a 50 not a modular it wont fit.

yeah like he said just have to get the right one. they make the t56 for alot of differnt cars just like the t-5 you just have to get the right one.

Correct, you will need a different bellhousing, crossmember and driveshaft. You will also have to make some modifications to the transmission tunnel.

That is not a good reason to go thru all of the work to put a 6 speed in your car.

2014 ford probe? no! what i ment was if you buy a tranny used make sure it comes for a 5 litre. Their all over ebay and craigslist most commonly for a modular.

what would be a good reason to want a 6 speed in my car then? lmfao

but nah im gona stay auto any ways and and get a sick valve body for it that eliminates the modular and u have to manually go threw each gear. My friend has it and it shits like a beast.

wait so you can put a 4th gen camaro/ firebird 6 speed tranny in my mustang? What would i need to do this? a new bellhousing, k member, and what else?
