I just found more problems. the stupid tab that welded to a heater bypass line is covering the bolt to the lower intake manifold I think its the 4th or 5th bolt back on the lower intake manifold. (who though of that shit?) well it happens to be busted and I can see anti-freeze. and I dont have the tool to remove the fuckin fuel lines from the rails.

I seriously think im going to go carbed. I need a new egr, heater bypass tube. (not heater core bypass) the bolts on my lower intake are loose and I cant re-torque becuse of bracket in the way and I cant fix that beacuse I need a "specialty" tool to get the fuel lines off. one of the fuel injection bolts is busted off in the intake. Every time something goes wrong, the connections to unplug everything are so old and brittle the plastic just snaps off. and every time there is a problem, 90% of the time it is electrical, or something involved with efi.

The vacuum lines looks to be in right places. Glad you had that sorted out.

Yes, the screw should have a hole in it.

and I dont know if it was leaking from the egr but I did see some coming out of the throttle body. and I did have to use some pretty good force to get the throttle body off becuase of the corrosion. do you think the egr can crack and cause that?
Does the screw have a small hole in the center? If so then yes it does go over the screw. It needs a vacuum hose on it.

I guess I'm not understanding what you are saying. If you didn't have the lower intake off and it wasn't smoking before then I don't see how this problem could have developed over night. I think I'm not understanding fully what you are saying.

That is a great reason to switch to a carburetor. Instead of spending $25 for the fuel line disconnect tools and then the small amount of money for the rest of the stuff you need you can spend $600+ on a carburetor, intake, throttle cable, distributor, fuel pressure regulator, rig your factory fuel system to work with a carb, etc.......and then probably lose power to boot.

The fuel line tool is cheap and is available at any auto parts store. There is also a tool for the Ford electrical connectors. They aren't breaking because they are brittle, they are breaking because you are using a screwdriver or other improper tool to get them off.

You hate EFI because you are not familiar with it. Spend some time reading. EFI is not complicated and is fairly easy to learn. People make it more complicated than it is. If I can learn and understand Ford EFI systems, anybody can do it.

Im sticking with it. I was just pissed off working with a drop light in the middle of the night and I keep having to wait for frekin parts to come in and people just keep coming over and hanging out while im trying to work and throwing their beer cans in my tool box so I lose more time picking up their trash. Im already lucky the city has not been called on me.

autozone or such loan out the tools.. you pay for them but when you return them you get your money back.. might be a good idea for you on the injector disconnect tools.. honestly I have the disconnect tools and never invested any time into figuring out how to use them because I could twist the entire fuel rail out of the way of the lower when needed.

both times i've ever done an intake swap (trickflow and holley systemax2) i've broken a fuel rail bolt.. it's total bs and useally have to drill them out. I've come to realize I could just go to home depot and get shorter versions of the fuel rail bolts and no more breaking.
