Need Help - Can a Normal Mustang door work on a T-top mustang?

Hey guys i was looking at getting a new pass. door and realized that my mustang GT (t-top) doesnt have the support around the window so its practically a convertable door. Which sucks for me b/c i was about to buy a new door for $40!
My questions is, is there a way to make this normal GT door( has black metal trim around window) work on my T-top mustang (apparently uses Covertable doors)??
Like can i saw off the metal trim or will the window prob not line up correctly and everything?
Im totally bummed here i was about to get a nice door....woundering if anyone can help me out and if it possible to make a normal GT door work. Please help! Thanks guys. - The Novice.

I was just checking out MPS MUSTANG on Ebay. they have a set of t-top doors for sale if you want to check it out. I'm assuming it's for a fox body.

Glass is different and depending on the year the inside door handle location could be different but that can be changed using you existing hardware. The first one of these I did was back in 85 on an 83 GT T-top. Use your glass and trim pieces and take your time cutting the upper window frame and it's fairly easy.
