C-4 with 3.73 or 4.10

Im currently changing alot of things on my car and right now the rear end is a problem. Im changing everything shocks, control arms, differential, axles, and gears.... right now its a stock 5.0 motor but in the coming few years after i get another car im dropping in a 408w for sure. When that motors come so does a c-4 transmission. My question is which gear would be ok for the setup i have now and also be enough to handle the 408w and c-4 combo. ps the new motor will barely be street driven but for right now the car is a daily driver.

3.73 if you are concerned about fuel economy. When you do the 408/C4 combo you will probably need a different gear depending on what the engine needs. Saying 408/C4 is a vague statement. There are many other variables that effect gearing. Cross that bridge when you get to it.

well if you are concerned about fuel economy then you are not going to want a c4 beings there is no overdrive so it would be like driving in 4th on your t5. if you do then just keep the 373's in the rear. 4.10's are going to be steep in the c4 unless it sees alot of track time. i am in the middle of the t-5 to c4 swap and i already have 4.10's so i am gonna keep em but my car sees 70% track 25% street and i only live 5 miles from the 1/4 mile strip so it works out.

another option is the AOD but they are about 2500 alone to have one built for a 408.

He isn't swapping to the C4 until he puts the 408 in. Then fuel economy won't be a concern.

it might be. espically with a 408 i would rather get 12 mpg then 5mpg.
