What to do?
so next summer it looks i have the unfortunate task of replacing my head gasket. but, fortunately that allows me to replace or modify my upper engine. I have decided to pull the motor and inspect everything on the bottom end too while replacing my rusty oil pan and leaky rear main seal. anyways, I'm looking to make some power while i'm at it.
I am gonna go with a cam, an intake and some heads when i do this. I am on a little budget but I'm looking to make some power for the street until i can throw some real money into the car after graduation. I really like the trick flow stuff but i can't afford it until later. but I was thinking about porting my stock heads or even possibly finding a set of gt-40 heads and porting them? this would be alot cheaper than buying new aluminum heads. Yes, I know i won't make as much power as a nice set of aluminum trick flow or edelbrock heads, but i'm on a budget. My question is, should i pick up some gt-40 heads and port them or should i get my stockers ported? also, does anyone have a cam recomendation? I don't want something waaayy too lopey but i would like a nice sound at idle. I am planning on using a trick flow intake and a bbk throttle body which i already have. I am assuming i will need to upgrade the fuel injectors as well. should i go 24lb? 30lb?

GT-40's hands down. E7's are garbage, even ported. It's not hard to make power on a budget with these cars.

has anyone had experience with a set of ported gt-40's? anyone have any Et's or HP numbers? more important than that, anyone have a set of GT-40's for sale?
I think i remember seeing a chart on the internet that has specs comparing all the different heads on SBFs comparing flow rates, intake/exhaust port sizes and chamber sizes. does anyone have a link to that kind of stuff?
