clutch or trans problem?


i have done a aod to t-5 swap all parts are new except trans was rebuilt.new flywheel,spec 1 clutch,triple hook quad with adjustable cable and firewall adjuster,new clutch fork and throwout bearing.after the swap first try clutch would not disengage no matter how much adjustment was done.tried different clutch same problem.changed cable to stock replacement and still same thing. can anyone tell me what problem might be,running out of ideas

did you install the clutch disc backwards?????

Is the pressure plate the correct unit? 10" or 10.5", when the cable isn't connected the clutch lever should have some play and not feel it is upagainst the fingers on the pressure plate.

It's a ten inch and there is some play before you connect cable.I got a tip this week on the pilot bearing if it's not installed dead flat or not machined correctly to where inside dia. is true it will give the trans a direct drive and not let the clutch disengage finally found someone who had similiare problem so i'm going to buy a stock replacement from ford and give it a try the throwout bearing was a little sloppy when i got the clutch so maybe they have problems with pilot bearing also keepin my fingers crossed i'll put up a new thread if it cures the problem thanks for the info.
