need help on gears..

ok here's the deal , i have a 88 gt ,gt40p heads, holley systemax intake, e303 cam, bbk headers, msd coil, distrubuitor and 6al box, mass air conversion, 93 cobra ecu, etc etc..now... i have a AOD with a 3500 stall, i don't use highways , i just drive around town smokin' chevy's lol ... i know my gear ratio is 3.27's , i want to upgrade to 3.73's or 4.10's , i live in mexico so i can't buy gears from any performance shop cause there ain't none , and if i order it it's almost 450 dllrs with shipping and all that bs, there's no problem on install, i'll do it myself, i've been to several junkyards in town and there's a bunch of rear ends , i know when the rear end is in the car , you jack it up and mark the tire and all that , but here's the deal i can't really do that cause the rear ends are bunched up in a huge pile , i know how to tell the difference between the different ford rear ends , but the thing is i can only take the cover off and look for numbers on the ring , and i don't know what is what when it comes to numbers, can somebody help me out how to figure out the numbering on the ring, or tell me which cars have 3.73's or 4.10's , that way i just look for a car, thanks guys i've learned a lot from this forum, hope u can help me on this one.. i'm the only fox body mustang owner in town thanks ..!!

not sure where sonora is but shipping within mexico is a LOT cheaper maybe I can order them for you and you can send me the money via paypal or something and I can ship them to you cause I always have people coming down from the states and bringing me parts thats how I got my whole motor basically...how far are you from cancun?..

it's far... very far lol , like goin from new york to california, and the deal is my town is small, there's no ups or none of that shit, and my town is pretty close to the border with arizona the deal is i want to go as cheap as possible, junkyards here sell stuff like that for dirt cheap, for example i bought a whole 8.8 rear end for another mustang i had for 20 dllrs. , cause they sell used stuff like that for what it weighs , so i imagine a set of gears would be like 2 bucks lol so , that's why i want to know what cars have what gear ratio, or how to figure the ratio by reading the numbers on the ring , i think if there's a 11 39 it's 3.55's ,not sure though, correct me if i'm wrong, but i want to learn how to figure it out just be looking at the numbers, the dude that was teaching me stuff like that is no longer available , and i would really like to learn so , sorry i'm such a cheap ass , but i got bills, school and stuff like that , but just can't stop messing with my mustang lol

You can easily tell the difference visually when you look at the gears, the ring will be very thin, the thinner the ring the higher the ratio. And you can tell by pinion size, bigger the pinion head the higher the ratio
