Stock audio setup for 1986?
I know they had AM/FM Cassette, but what were the speaker positions / sizes?

im in the same thing for thein 6 1/2 doors 6/8 in back and i think 4 1/2 or 4 in front

Yea that's what Crutchfield said, but all the pics I've seen, including the one of the '86 I'm looking at, only seem to show the dash and rear (hatch area) speakers, no door speakers. Maybe it was part of the premium setup..

Ok I think I've got it figured out. In '87 when they re-designed the interior, door speakers were added and the rear speakers were moved from the back of the hatch to either side of the rear seat, facing forward.
Maybe the door speaker grilles could be added to the '86 so they'd look factory. The rear speakers would be fine; just swap in woofers for some bass. |

sounds about right i think the 86 and like the 1992 interior door panels are interchangeable idk for sure though
