ok turbo 302 or turbo 351
so i really plan on building a mostly stock turbo sbf to start with.
302 vs 351 its sad that one of the main reasons im leaning towards the 302 is the fact that i love the sound. im thinking about explorer intake and heads and turbo with off road x pipe and some flow 40's figure at best 347 short block around 2400 then i have to worry about shipping then i might be about to get the heads intake manifold and turbo manifold for like 1000 use everything else off the motor i have and shoot for like 400 to the wheels vs a used 351 or even a 408 short block and im thinking it would be cheaper to get the 351 but whats the major plus and negs on this im telling you its like 10 plus points the sound of a 5.0 with 40's underload at like 2000 rpms..... |

the 351 block is quite a bit stronger than the 302 block.. i'd personally go with a 351W based build

why limit yourself with a weak block ( 302 ) sure you can get an aftermarket block but a stock 351 block is plenty strong and much cheaper. plus you have room to grow with a 351

How much power are you looking to make? If you are only looking to make 400HP, you could go with a 408 and not even need the turbo. BUT, you will probably want more power down the road, so keep that in mind when you choose your stroker kit if you go with one.
Either way, go with the 351W. |
