From what I heard.. those ford alphabet cam is not good, they're like 20 years old technology. Try a Comp cam, or lunati.

That big of a cam with stock heads isn't going to do much for you.

You need to tell us the rest of your setup. Assuming everything else is stock, that cam is too big for your setup.
At the very least, your heads would need new valve springs. Piston/valve clearance would need to be checked...
It's not a cam you just slap into a stock 5.0 motor and call it a day. You all the other stuff to compliment the cam, such as BETTER heads, exhaust, gears, compression ratio, intake.

motor is a 40 over 302 with flat top pistons just a little bigger than stock ,stock heads cam and intake, everything i have done is CAI,70mmTB,MSD Ignition,4:10 gears and the car is a 5speed. what would be a good choice for a cam.

You really should buy heads and intake before you start looking at cams because until then, any cam you install, you will see little or no gain with until you get heads and intake.
FWIW, the stock cams in the 5.0's are good for 12's

budget buying is best spent on ebay or other forums where people have goodies to sell.

You could look for a Ford Explorer intake and the GT-40p heads that also came with them...
Search Ebay for them...they're all over the place.
