Carbed engine question.

Ok, I'm fairly new to the world of carbed engines, so I am wondering somthing, I read that the 351W in 1984 put out roughly 140hp with a 2bbl carb, however with a 4bbl carb it was up to about 210 hp. So My question is I have a truck that has a 302 with a 2bbl carb on it, would adding a 4bbl carb really get my engine up to about 200hp, I know it ist going to make quite as much power as the 351 would, but is that kind of a power gain from a 4bbl carb swap typical? Any help would be great as I am considering doing a rebuild of this engine. Thanks.

No you won't gain that much horsepower. The 210hp 351W was the HO engine which is why it was 70hp more than the base model 351W.

Ok, thanks man, it seemed like it was a lot of power from just adding a carb but I really wasnt 100% sure. what was the difference between the base model 302, and the HO 302?
