01 bullit posi fit?

got a 90 lx and a 01 bullit posi unit with 20 thous. miles on it i checked the splines on the axles from a ranger i had laying around from 5 lug conversion and they slide right in and it looks legit. i want to leave my 4 lug assembly in this car and put the 01 unit in. has anyone done this? and will it work?

The only 8.8 axle that has 31-spline axle shafts came out of the trucks, like F-150's and Bronco's. All others are 28 spline.

And Mustangs don't have "Posi" rear ends...they have TracLok.

lol...wasn't so much of a correction as it was meant to be funny. I get a kick out of doing that when a Camaro owner asks if my car has a "posi" rear end.

Anyways, yeah, you should be fine, so long as you use the same axles. The differentials are a direct swap.
