351w fox efi and turbo build tips
i have a 88 fox that used to be a 4 banger. i took a 85 E-350 van 351w and c6 and put in the stang for a senior project. its a fun car but it needs more.
i want to take the efi off a 351w truck upgrade injectors and add a twin turbo kit. the set up i planed on using is gt-40 heads with some work. i need a good cam idea. i go to wyotech so i have many friend who build motors and have conections to flow benches and many other tools. the car is a cheap project if your wondering why i dont buy after market efi and head set ups. any help or ideas would help. |

a stock cam would work fine with turbo.. good lsa and small duration is what turbos really like for good vac.
e or f cam would be a cheap upgrade. as far as efi goes, no idea i have a carb. ever thought of going big single?

750 blow thur carb
Carburetor Solutions Unlimited is only blow thru carb I would use. Ford F cam would work nice. Its a good turbo cam due to higher lobe seperation. Built my own twin turbo kit using flipped BBK shorties and cheap T3/T4's ![]() ![]()

r barn what was your bottom end in that build?
i want to do a similar build with my 78, but its a stock crank with hyper pistons. probably just a single turbo tho, im afraid my bottom end is my weakness tho, is it worth it to do a turbo build and run low boost? (8-9psi) |

for a point of reference, a 351 with GT40 heads and mild hyd roller cam is going to make about 250 hp (see early lightnings).
Add to that 8-10 PSI from a turbo and you would be lucky to have 400 hp, although you might have 500+ ft lbs of torque. I would think there are easier ways to achieve those kind of goals more cheaply. If you aren't interested in cheap, then spring for a real set of heads, like the CNC trick flows or AFR 225s.
