Brake Line Dilemma. Please help

Long story short, i blew a brake line,.. almost drove into a bunch of people.. So i'm in the midst of replacing these and the replacement dont fit. The replacement flex lines do not go back into the bracket thats mounted on the inner wheel well. I've tried to different manufacturers, and its still the same. Anyone know wtf the deal is? Or will i have to grind some off of the butt where it pops into the bracket? i'll post a pic in a sec.

the hex right above the c-clip is the problematic part,.. the pic is the oem equip..... which fits properly. The new equip. is slightly diff. in size(width) its more of an oval hex look than a circle

What model year is the car, and when was it built? It's possible to have a part two model years older that was installed at the factory, and there could be a split in the production parts that were used that year. Try comparing brake lines from two years forward or backward from the PRODUCTION (build) date of the car.
