Why would you want to run 8.1 compression with 5lbs of boost?

I would try to get the compression around 9.1 at least and up the boost to at least 8-9 lbs if not more.

The stroker kit you are looking at is a chp kit and you could probably buy it cheaper from fordstrokers or chp. Also i would try and opt for a diff head but if that is what you are set on, its your choice. I would opt for an alum. head made by trick flow or afr if you have the money.

okay the kit is set up for 8:1 compression specifically for boost but 5-10 pounds of boost doesnt need compression that low. which is the reason for the 58cc heads to bump the compression up a tad because im not running alot of boost. i opted for iron heads because i what the strength and durablitlity over the aluminum, and dont exactly have the money. and finally 331 instead of 347 because i can only find a few kits with low enough compression to run boost with a 347 plus dont want to deal with the pin and ringland situation on my first engine build.

not a big phone guy can ya just explain the flawed part of my logic on here and let others have input too this is the reason i posted this thread is bcause this will be my first time building from ground zero and if i had the knolwedge i would buy all parts seperate to get whats good but i dont know exactly what the best stuff is so im looking for input on a 331 stroker where i can run 10 pounds of boost and be pushing 450 500 hp

Just call him, you will be glad you did. He knows how to put an engine together and will take all the guesswork out of what you are doing.

Do you already have a good running 302 in your car? You are wasting your money with a stroker kit. You are planning on a blower which by accident will make 500rwhp on a 302. Spend that stroker kit money on a set of good aluminum heads. Run a good blower with about 10 pounds of boost and you will have more power than you know what to do with.

Aluminum heads are plenty durable and will handle anything you throw at them. They also disapate heat faster. If strength and durability was an issue you wouldn't see all of these auto makers switching to aluminum heads and blocks.

The pin in the ring land causes no issues except mental issues. Regardless, a stroker is not what you need if you are running a production 5 liter block.

now that is helpful !!so as far as intenals.....they are strong enough to to handle more than the block right so leave them? i had a bad pin in the piston acually a couple they were alittle stiff.right now the motor is out and the block just got magna fluxed what is the best way to go to get five hundred horse with a budget of say 4 grand...this is a street car by the way and i want to do all the work myself gotta learn this stuff and doing it is the best.

that guy that you were afraid to call is woody from ford strokers....He is awesome at what he does and can save you a lot of money and a lot of problems in the long run....and what do yuo mean you want to do it all yourself you were looking at ordering a motor and what puttin it in the car? and the flawed logic is your beliefs of the fking fairy tales about the 347 issues........
