Why do my blinkers have such a delay?

When i hit my blinkers right or left it takes like 2secs. for it to start blinking. And they blink slow 2secs. apart or so like blink---------------------blink, ETC.

What can i do to fix this cuz its annoying switching lanes in the highway cuz i have to wait for the blinkers to make it safe.

Blinker Fluid [BF-01] - $8.99 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items!

Had to

Check your voltage when the car is running, should be at 13.8-14.4 while running, if not you possibly have to replace the flasher.

did you use a multimeter to see what the voltage is at with the car running?

No, check the car's voltage at the battery. The less voltage a flasher has, the slower it will operate. Usually poor grounds or a weak alternator/battery will cause slow flashing. Check the voltage, if it's good, redo your grounds on the car from the battery to the frame and from the engine to the frame. If that doesn't fix it, you could have a short in the wiring of your blinker system.

Also make sure to check and make sure all your bulbs are good.

If thats the case then follow the routing of the wires from the battery to the front of the car. They could be rubbed bare some where

Well i just notice something. I looked at videos on youtube and my needle for the voltage on the cluster never rises above like 2 lines and a half. Gonna check my voltage after work but i am guessing i'm gonna need a new alternator.

Does having a crappy(smaller) battery be bad also?

Before anything, check that running voltage.

A battery being physically small doesn't mean a whole lot. If it starts the car fine and it isn't too old, it's probably fine, as long as it has the proper amount of cranking amps for the car. If it seems weak, have it tested.

Also check the voltage with the car off right at the battery and see what it rests at, anything below 11.9 isn't that great, but that could indicate a poor alternator too. Then check the voltage acrost the connection up front where they tied the relocate kit in and a ground, if it is less than at the battery by anything more than about .1v to .2v you have poor connections somewhere.
