Broken T-5.................

I went to the track Friday night to run my car and I lost 3rd and 4th gear. The car has been shifting kind of hard in those two gears the past few months. The car launched good, went to second with no problem, and as I shifted to third it started to grind!! I backed out of it and just went to shift to fourth and call it a run but there was no forth gear.

It will shift into the gear, but the gear does not engage. It's like it's in neutral. There is no grinding and I was able to drive it back. Now I only have first, second and fifth.
Someone said I sheered a pin for the shifting fork. Anyone else had this problem????

yes, i have. when we first bought the mustang it had problems. it was actually only the clutch cable. but the previous owner didnt know that. but we had to drive it home, not using the clutch at all and broke an ear off of the 1-2 shift fork. we could still get it in gear we just had to jam it.

Thats what I think too.. My buddy said he can rebuild them with out any problem but we just need to find the time. We are busy getting the turbo car ready for the World street nationals the end of this month so my car is put on hold..............
