1.5" cervini wont clear gt40 after upgrades

just put the motor in after rebuild. checking hood clearance with tubular gt40 intake and 1" and 1/2" intake spacer stacked to clear 3 3/4 inch valve covers. Upper intake barely clears taller valve covers but after checking hood it seems to be 1-2" to tall to close. I just put new motor mounts in (urethane). Are these mounts taller than the convertible ones? Also do they make a motor mount that will lower the motor besides the solid mounts?

The intake worked before with about 1" extra clearance with just the 1/2 spacer on it. Did the motor mounts and the trickflow heads raise me up too much? Even with the added spacer of 1" from old measurements, should have still cleared.

Any body know some options.

Does anyone know if trickflows 3" valve covers will clear roller rockers and stud girdles?
I really dont want to have to get another hood and do paint again. Thanks
Sorry so long!

no thanks. I traded my cobra gt40 and got this one. Very nice it is. May be for sale if I must go with a different intake setup for clearance

do you need that extra 1/2" spacer? what motor mounts do you have? you can go to autozone and get a set of convertible mounts that will drop it down bout 1/2 " i also have a 3/8" spacer you could use insted of the 1/2 "

yes, it needs both the 1/2 and the 1" combined or the throttle body hits the valve cover. I've never even seen a 3/8" before but I dont think it would be enough to clear the valve cover from throttle body (its close). From what I measured, the trickflow heads are taller than stock by 1/2 inch. The motor mounts are new urethane from Prothane. They do seem taller than the stock. I still have the stockies and may try to swap to see if it will drop a lot.
If I do go cal hood, it looks like I'll need a 4" since I'm at 1.5" now and its about 2 more inches from closing.

Maybe I can find a local distributer and we could set a few in place to get the right hood. The shorter the better. Last resort though.

Any other thoughts, options?

if its 2" too tall at the nose of the hood that means if u can drop it about 1/2" then it should fit. froom the looks of the picture you can take the smaller one off and it will fit just fine.. if not then the cheapest way would be to take a hammer to the valve cover and make clearence..

I know these Prothane Motion Control 6-501-BL - Prothane Motor Mounts - summitracing.com Prothane motor mounts are big, at least an inch higher then the stock non convertable ones. My tube on the throttle body that runs to the beather hits the non webbing part of the hood and I don't have any intake spacers either.

I need to clear stud girdles. Trickflow makes a set that are 3". Maybe those will clear the girdle. The ford racing are 3 3/4" tall. The motor mounts are over an inch taller, damn. I should put the convertible ones back in and see where she sets after that.

Why do you need a stud girdle? You aren't going to be seeing any real RPM with a GT40 tubular intake. Ditch the stud girdle and the valve covers or buy a taller hood.

Also, if you get rid of the EGR that will free up some room for the throttle body so you can get rid of the extra spacer.

Get shorter motor mounts... if you are daring enough, you can see if you can machine the urethane ones down a bit.
