Save your money.. Buy a Dart block, Get a good forged rotating assembly, nice cam and a supercharger or go for the gas (NČO).

If you do the install on the parts you should be under 6k or not much above it.

wont be that hard. Nitrous or turbo will get you pretty damn quick. I disagree with buying a new block, just get you a forged rotating assembly as stated above, work out some more little kinks, then throw on a poweradder.

I don't understand why you seem to think stock blocks are so good. They fail all the time and if you are buying a good rotating assembly and have a good cam installed... when that block cracks in half you'll be buying a lot of those parts all over again do to damage. Do some research first.

Sure 300hp may hold up for a while but anyone putting down 500+ at the wheel has a ticking time bomb if they are using a stock block. Why spend good money on parts and cheap out on the block?

the stock blocks have been proven to handle 450+hp reliably, so long as they're tuned correctly. i doubt he'll need more than 450hp to contend with the $50-60k cars he was refering to. i will however agree with you that above 500hp a decent block is a really good idea...but they don't cost $2000. many of the good blocks can be had for under $1000. even the new boss block doesn't cost $2K

i have been told buy people who know what they are doing that stock blocks are more than reliable to around 500 HP.

SO you do some research and shut up!

Anyone telling someone that is building up a new motor to use the stock block should SHUT UP.

I can tell by your pic in your sig you're running some serious power.

hey man seriously, i have always admitted that my car isnt fast at all. so before you make an ass of yourself by trying to say more about me, seriously shut up!
the point is he doesnt have to be in the 9s to beat one of those cars....even i know that idiot!
stock block with some good internals and a power adder will definitely blow past some of those cars.....i dont see why you go stating stuff like that but you are pretty cool man.
