Clutch Install

Could I do it myself with a hydralic jack and some jackstands? I need to know because my friend is getting an 86 vert that needs a new clutch and clutch cable and he will pay me to do it. I just need to know if I could do it with just a jack and some stands. Thanks

Ok sweet. Can you walk me through all the steps but be as simple as possible? I don't wanna look like I don't know what I'm doing when I'm getting paid to install a clutch haha

clutch

1. disconnect the collectors on the exhaust.
2. disconnect the driveshaft but be sure to have a drain pan under the tailhousing.
3. disconnect the transmissin crossmember but hold the trans up with the jack and let the trans drain.
4. disconnect the speedo cable and electrical connections.
5.take the bolts out and pull out the transmission, its kinda heavy.
6. i have a tail.
7. you will see the pressure plate and clutch and everything in front of you. take out the pressure plate and clutch, if the flywheel looks good then he doesnt need to replace it or have it turned.
8. if you have a tail too, you have to do this backwards and upside down with a thumb in your ass.
