3.8 to 4.6 in 1995 Mustang

I am picking up a 1995 mustang with the 3.8 5-speed this weekend. I also have the option of snagging a 1994 Lincoln MarkVIII which has the 4.6. Would it be a hard swap to put the 4.6 in the stang? Should I just find a 5.0? Also is the 3.8 tranny the same as the 5.0

my sugguestion if still applicable would be to keep looking for a cheap gt, the swap itself is possible but a time consuming process. but to answer the questions it really depends on your knowledge of automechanics to gauge your personal difficulty in the process. it can be done, and has been done many times both 5.0 and 4.6 swaps. the v6 and gt transmissions are the same (T5).

Even if you pay a little more for the GT, you'll save youself some work and money down the line. With swap, to make the 5.0 work. Then later on i'm sure you will want to upgrade HCI, you might as well look for a GT and later on when you ready do HCI, will help you with time, and possible save you some $$$$
