Convertible top trouble

Question for everyone, 50resto has a kit for a replacement top with all of the goodies including back window for $350, that great, right? WRONG! Everyone has said to get someone to install it because I'm going to mess it up, I called around 700-1250 for the install alone, is this crazy or is it really going to cost me this much?

I've run into the same problem. $1200 or higher around where I'm at. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and do it myself. Could you post pics if you do it your self.

I Had the same issues about 2 years ago with my Stang.
I have a 88 Vert, you can get a good top & kit for about $250.00 plus.
I looked around but got my top professionaly done, it is just a hassle to do it yourself unless you know your stuff.
I got a new top & frame for $625.00 .
Took my car in on a Saturday & it was ready on Monday evening.
No probelms, top is good material & always looks good & tight.
My installer told me for the first three days to leave the top up, so that it will keep tight & with a good form.
When you go looking for a new top, the material is important, there are cheap tops that will last you fro a year or so then problems arise becasue of cheap material.
Good luck !
