dump my exhuast

If I dump my exhaust will it sound any different from outside of my car? Will it give me any performance gains? Right now I have a cat back flowmast but I plan on getting bbk long tubes and mid pipe in the future.

I had flowmasters and dumps. It is louder but the bigger change is the frequency is lower, more of a louder rumble than with tail pipes. You can make a decent set of dumps by cutting off a curved piece of an old tail pipe if you want to try it first.

I liked the sound of dumps for about a month and went back to tail pipes. The fumes were tolerable but annoying too.

Dumps mean cutting the exhaust off right after the mufflers.

No mufflers means no back pressure, which means slow....

I am not wrong i have dumps on my car now and they need to go for straight pipes to give more back pressure.

It gives more back pressure because it is a longer flow

Backpressure is not needed on a EFI engine with o2 sensors, it is more of a myth than anything. Proper exhaust scavenging is what you want with a properly tuned exhaust.

You haven't heard annoying until you run no cats with flow masters and no turn downs. It sounded good for about a day. I never drove a car and get a headache after. it was so annoying i couldn't stand it. I put turn downs on it the next day. I drove it like that for a while.
