I just put a set of gt-40 heads on my 1990 5.0 the headers are still stock. The passenger side is fine but on the driver side three of the four plug wire boots keep melting i have already put the nylon sheilds on or whatever and it didnt help umm some one told me that there are extenders that are made out of porcelin that make it so u dont have to plug the wire directly on the plug does ne one know what i am talking about and if so where can i find some my email is trapwhizz88@yahoo.com if u find ne thing thank u

They do make extenders. They are called Spark Arms. Never used them but they seem like a a good idea. I think they run about 40 bucks apiece or so

You should try getting larger headers due to the limited size ports. Causing your stock headers to get too hot.

Larger headers will not do anything. The exhaust gas temp for any good running 4 stroke engine is over 1000 degrees larger headers will not make the temp lower it will just put the hot pipe closer to the boots.

You have stock Fox body headers? Get headers designed for the P heads.
