I got the FMS one for $100 used as well. It was in great shape. I noticed no difference anything other than it was well balanced and the steel one I had to replace was shaking the whole car

It is a little lighter, has 1330 ujoints that are stronger but will you notice a difference? I highly doubt it.

$100 for a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft is a deal. Don't expect any major difference though. The main thing is it is stronger and lighter so it takes less power to turn. It won't make any significant performance gains but every little bit counts. When you start combining the little things like a driveshaft, exhaust, underdrive pulleys, etc. it will soon add up to a "bigger" difference. It will have no effect on the car "revving down" when you let off the gas. The speed sensor, clutch circuit and computer control the hanging idle.

little if any performance gain as it is larger in diameter, so the weight savings are offset by the weight traveling a larger circumference. Plus the difference in weight is only like 5lbs. The main advantages, like aleady stated are:

1) the FRPP unit is stronger all around and people make huge hp numbers using them with no problem
2) aluminum is a better vibration dampener than steel and therefore will quiet and dampen the drivetrain

a good rule of thumb is removing 1 pound of rotating mass on your drivetrain is like removing 8 pounds out of your car.

only if you are keeping the diameter the same. For example, you could upgrade from a 14 inch wheel to a 18 inch wheel that weighs the same and slow down significantly due to the mass of the 18 inch wheel being farther from the center of rotation.

torque = radius x force. The larger the radius the more force required.

These 2 statements are wrong !Facts:
1) On a very high HP(1,000) car the Alum Shaft have tisted in two !
2) Alum will help with rotational vibration but transmits more noise than a steel unit does.
