I want 700 HP for 3 grand also....I wish it were that easy bro I am not even close to that and I have over 10 grand invested and thats just parts no labor....that did include my tranny parts and stall and everything was bought brand new so I am sure you could do it a little cheaper but still not anywhere around 3....unless you want to do like 500 HP of N20

700hp out of a 351 is easy.

but, heads alone will run into (and out of) the 3k range easily.
still want 700 hp?

people have zero concept of how much power 700hp is...

hp means zero.. it's all about how the car is setup, the suspension..

there are guys on this board that put down maybe 300whp and run circles around guys that spend mondo bucks on thier engine, make 500 hp and still run slow as shit.

Pull the carpet back in front of and under the driver's seat. I've seen more than a couple fox bodies with stress cracks in that area.

I'm in the same boat as you man. Looking to buy at least a roller, willing to spend up to 3k depending on what I'm getting.. I craigslisted a wanted add. Some guy offered me a 89 LX body with no engine, rust-free frame. decent body and all interior for $150. I have yet to go look at it as he's about 2 hours from here. But you'll find something.

I think it tends to happen with cars that get driven in the city alot. Mine was city driven and the previous owner was a rather large guy.
