Got my new tires
Got my tires nitto 555r 315/35-17 and 555's 245/45-17. Wow the 315's are huge. Still waiting for my wheels them i can get a few pictures to post.
I have a feeling though the 315's aren't going to do to well with my 408 i'm building. Ford Strokers 408, canfield heads , custom cam and pro system car. I think i might be going through tires quickly |

I picked the nitto becasue its supposed to be a good compromise of drag and cornering. Should last abit longer too.
See what happens to them with a 500+hp 408 and then a 150 shot ontop of that! |

If you want a car that will help you in cornering go with the Goodyear Eagle F1's. Those things are sick.

best thing to do is get street tires on your oem rims or whatever and get slicks/dr's on another set of wheels for track days.
having a 'drag' car for a dd is often hard.

+! on that i have a set of cobra rims with nitto's on them they are a good balence of grip/wear on the street and i have another set of 16" cobra replica wheels with a set of m/t et streets on them. they were like 100.00 a wheel. just make sure you get a 16 or smaller wheel for the slicks cause you want the wall of the tire to be able to wrinkle up so no lo profile tires on the track they just dont hook.

Nittos stick to the pavement and corner better that an F1 - trust me. The F1 is all over the road on the ass end whilst cornering, whereas the Nittos will actually hold the ass end in place because of their gummier composition. F1's were one hell of a scary ride when I had them!

I have had the nittos since spring and I like them because I drive the car every day in the summer and I race it once or twice a week. They hook very well on a well prepped track you just have to heat them more. So far I think ive put about 7000 miles on them and thats with baking them every week. They wear better than any other drag radial though

i'm thinking about trying these cause I'm on shifty street tires now but my last set of e.t streets I was on the chords by 4200 miles. That's two oil changes. I am really hard on tires though

et streets dont last thats why its good to have an extra set of wheels just for the track.
