Looking to buy SN95 5.0

Hey, this is my first post on here (I am quite active over at caraudio.com/forum) but I messed up the back end of my Buick, and am looking for a new car to play around with. Always been a huge Mustang fan, so this go around I think I want an SN95 with a 5 speed for the cheapness and ease of building power.

Anyway, I think I will probably have between 2000-2500 to spend on the car alone, and mods will come later on. I would like to eventually get a set of GT40P heads, headers, H-pipe exhaust with dual Borlas, intake, Cam/Rods/Rocker setup, 3.73 gears

Wanting to do some simple things to get 250-300HP to the rear tires. What should I look for when looking for the car? Any common issues on these cars to be on the lookout for? simple problems aren't a big concern as I work at a parts store and can get parts/help easily.

I just want an idea of what I'm getting into as far as these cars go with reliability, common problems, and eventually the ease of working on them.

I had a fox and I now have a sn95. I love them both but I would stick with my 95 if I had to choose. No offense but to me it looks a lot more like a sports car than the fox. I like the interior better. I dont have to swap to a 5 lug, already have disc brakes. I do miss the hatchback though. Hatchbacks are great when competeing in stereo (i know it adds weight I dont care) I am not taking away from the fox but i like my 95 better

only thing i guess I could tell you to look out for is rust. I dont know where you live or where you plan on buying the car but even in places not near the ocean you get bad rust especially if the cars driven during the winter snow when they salt the roads.
Is that your notch in your sig freak? If so that thing is effin clean

Interior, you mean to tell me you dont like Tweed, lol

Yeah i hear ya on the 95's looking more like a sports car but i think you can make a Fox look pritty sexy pritty quick.

As we all know the 80's werent the best for mustangs. But i like mine b/c around here you almost never see them anymore. I Do like the 95's but i love the Hatch so i got a Hatch. But at least you have a 5.0 in yours 95StangMX. Actually you did a engine build, hows that going btw?

Btw sexy notch StangFreak, lookin good! What ya got now?

After owning numerous fox's then switching over to the sn body about 7 years ago, I could never see myself going back to a fox. The sn is so much more refined in every aspect.

Those are all the main reasons I want an SN. I've been driving a 1990 Buick, and I want something that looks a little nicer. I've never met a girl that liked Fox's and Fox interiors, and I'm tired of taking a girl out and having her ask why I drive and old-ass POS.

I really want something with a nice interior, and 94-04 'Stangs have one of my favorite stock interiors on any car.

I will be buying the car in Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky, so salt on the roads is an issue (they've never heard of using sand or cinders for traction instead of shitloads of salt)

I think I can still find a decent body. Any major engine issues I need to look out for? Any tell-tale signs of a gonner with these cars? Also, as far as mileage, how much is too much? Over time I will probably basically rebuild the whole motor, but within the next year just Heads, I/H/E, cam, valve train and gears

Just my thoughts: I've always thought of the 94-95 as the weakest years for the Mustang. They just seem to be kind of dogs. Don't they put about 185HP to the wheel?

Arent all mustangs dogs in stock form? Then again who drives a stock mustang anymore? On a side note the doggiest of the stangs are the 96-98gts.

Yeah, I know he was talking about mods and all. I was thinking a notchback 5.0 would be more down that alley.
