Welding 8.8 Axle Tubes

Stangzilla MM Fanatic Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: On my way to Baines's house!! Posts: 3,020	Welding 8.8 Axle Tubes Can anyone tell me the right procedure for welding the axle tubes on my 8.8. I already made a set of axle braces as per some plans from a mustang magazine and they came out great. I just dont want to do anything wrong and maybe warp my axle tubes or somethin like that...

94gtmustang Newbie Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 13	I am not a welder by anymeans by I just read a MMFF and they tell you how I will try to find out which issue it was. We have a shop here in my town that does it cheap though I think he quoted me around 100 for everything that included him making the braces and he guarenteed not to warp my rear end. The keyis heating it up slowly and cooling it down slowly but like I said man I am no welder so I would call around you locally but that is just my opinion. The one in your car is most likely bent already. Most of them are even with stock engines. Put it in a jig, straighten it and then weld the tubes solid. Around $250. Could be more or less depending on your location. Pricing fluctuates on some of this crap depending on where you live. My tubes are welded, braced, hugged, kissed, etc.
