Friend's going to get a Cobra, have a few questions.
It has 60 something thousand miles on it. I want to know if there are any certain things we should look at when we go to check the car out today. Other than the usual things to check out. Also, I thought that the cobras were only available in hatchback, but this guy says he has a cobra convertible. Did they come in convertible form too?
And one last thing. I'm looking and all I can find is that they're rated at 235hp, and ~280 torque. But what years were they released specifically(I can find info only on 93 cobras, were there any made in 90-92?) |

The guy might think its a Cobra b/c the GT's that were made in Canada were labeled as "Cobra's".
But ford only made the Cobra 1st year in 93, as well as the Cobra R. But remember the 93's Do NOT have Forged Internals! Just FYI. |

Alright, I appreciate the help. I'm down in Long Beach, California. But I guess it's not impossible that a canadian 5.0 got down here. The guy has an engine cover that says cobra 5.0 on it as well. Looks like it's been on the car as long as it's been running. Thanks again guys.

yeah you can check the VIN and other things on the car to see if it's actually a cobra. in 1993 cobras were only made in hatch backs

Canadian Cobras (Mustang GT) are all over the states. I've owned two of them. The only difference between a Canadian Mustang GT and an american is "Cobra" on the title.
The eigth digit in the VIN will be D on a real 1993 Cobra.

They built Cobra Convertible's from 94-98? You didn't really specify what year you were looking at.
