408 stroker

Does any one know the total price of the parts to build a 408 stroker roughly?

if you're going to build it all yourself, expect a budget of at least $5000, 2-3 for a stroker kit, plus 2-3 for everything else.

At least that's my thoughts for my 347

I would look for a lightly used one on the forums, then u need all the supporting mods. I have about 7500 in my 383, and it is not nearly done yet. I want the heads and intake ported, more compression, wish I woulda built it with smaller mains, the list can go on and on...

I would suggest going with a chevy main size to help with oiling and friction. I spin mine to 7500 now on the stock 3'' diameter main, but I have heard that it is not as safe as the smaller main for the highter rpms. There are obviously a lot of things to take into consideration before you start this build, so I would definitely talk in person to someone who has a LOT of RELIABLE builds still running, and even in the race scene before I start this project. There may not even be a real need for forged pistons if you plan to spray just a small shot, and that will help with spinning it faster/higher to make more power n/a.If you want to make big power, just remember you need a big head, and a big cam, and make it a solid roller while you are doing it. I just swapped my hydro crap out for all solid roller and it is so nasty now, where it was just average before. good luck man..

Its not a chevy main, its a 2.750 "cleveland" main size and it just helps bring down bearing speed, nothing to do with oiling

no offense, but you don't have the ability to build this yourself.
look to spend at least 10k.
