Need help with EFI harness modification for 64 1/2 Mustang
I am doing the EFI swap in my 64 1/2 Mustang. I plan on going with a 89+ motor because of mass air. Does anyone have any information on modifying the harness to fit my classic mustang. Any information or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

You really want to do all that work to such a nice classic american muscle car like that? In my mind you have one of the first mustangs ever made. (practically, even though they 1/4 were after october) But that is a pritty rare car these days. And why not keep it original. Unless its the V6. But if its a 289. I would keep it that. If you ever plan to sell it why not keep it original, a car that old will maintain its value, especially if its in good shape and original.
Me and my buddy have been working on his 67 for the last 2 years but we are trying to make it unique bit still original. At least in my opinion i would keep it with the 289 block + they hold more HP than the Fox body Engine blocks. But its up to you obviously, but thats just my opinion. But if you do plan on swapping you might have issues with the 5.0 motor working well with the motor mounds and tranny. Also is it a C4 or Manual? Are you planning to switch to a foxbody tranny as well or keep the original? But if you are planning to get an aftermarket Tranny like a Tremec i would think twice. They are larger and you will have clearence issues. Its not impossible though, how much HP you looking to make? |
