interesting article, could fix idle surge?

my dad came across this and sent it to me.

FORDMUSCLE webmagazine: Fixing the 5.0L Surging Idle - Ten Pin Connectors

i just got done following the instructions as well as putting some dielectric grease on and i zip-tied the connectors together for good measure.

not sure if it will make a difference till i drive tomorrow.

but for 15min of my time it seems worth it.

my surging idle was because a vacuum line that goes from the vac tree to the upper plenium fell off

Does your engine have to be warm in order for it to surge on a vaccum leak

if its vacuum it would likely do it all the time. it wouldnt hurt to check all your vac lines though

I've posted this procedure in multiple threads on this forum. This should be the first thing you do when you have idle issues.

the bracket that holds my salt and pepper shakers to the plenium is broken. probably when the previous owner decided to change the intake to a GT40 cobra intake

I just did this. It definately helped some. I still have a little surging but I need to set my tps voltage. My car would surge really bad when in second at ~1200rpms. I can hardly notice it now. good article.
