isn't that a lot to spend for having a stock coil and ignition?

are you gettin a good price for the dist? is it free? i wouldnt just buy it unless you need it. if you do make sure you have a billet steel or bronze gear on it and not iron cause iron will destroy the cam gear. you might have to change it out. mine came with cast iron gear.

No it won't but it will be the biggest waste of money that you ever had. A billet distributor will do nothing for you on a low horsepower application.

Most of the 5 liter EFI distributors on the market come with steel gears that are compatible with factory roller cams.

yes i did need a new one, my old one was clicking when you turn it when you gave the car gas it would hit dead spots the rpms would fall and the rpms would go up and down. kinda like when you hit a rev limiter i guess. The reason why i asked the first question is because msd says you have to use there ignition, Ayways my point is that my car was running awesome with the new msd distibuter, and now for some reason it will only start sometimes and when it does it will shutdown after like 30 seconds of running, I checked to see if it was getting fuel by way of the valve behind the alternator and it shot out , so i take it that it wont start do to some spark issue, My car is supercharged running the lowest boost and the rest of the engine is pretty much stock, Anyone have any clues?

The Iron distributor gear gets destroyed, not the steel cam gear.
