can it handle it?


right now my car is pretty much stock...if i put about 450 horsepower into the car, is it gonna be able to handle it? meaning, the tranny, the rearend, the driveshaft...is that stuff gonna hold up??

probably need a stronger tranny and axles if you plan on it being a strip car. It could hold up if you drove it easy, but launches off the rev limiter, i wouldnt think so

well it isnt going to be a strip car...i drive it everyday because its my only car...i dont beat the thing very hard...i street race here and there but you know how that goes...

well a few launches with 450 hp could break something...Could is the key word! I would do a bit of strengthening up.

You asked a question and you got an honest answer from several people. It doesn't matter if its not going to be a strip car. If you didn't want to drive it hard you wouldn't want to make the extra horsepower. You can't add horsepower and not address the rest of the car.


Why ask for advice if you are going to argue with the advice that people give?

i wasnt arguing...he said something about if i plan on it being a strip car and i was just letting him know that it wasnt gonna be a strip car....tha is why i said that...

but why would you want all that if you wouldnt get on it. you said yourself that you would street race.

Bottom line, you need to mod the rest of the car as Darrell said to make the car whole.

+1 the more power u put to the motor its leads to modding the drivetrain and the rearend!
