On a 93 hatch I would suggest the 275/50/15 M/T Street Radial tire on a 15x8 rim with 5.5 B.S.. I have cut low 1.30's short times on these tires with ET's in the low 6's in the 1/8th mile.

I have the 275/60/15's on one of my wife's cars and she runs 10.00's on motor with no traction issues.

They do okay in the rain but no where as good as the Nitto's IMO.

If the car is your DD I would probably stick with the Nittos because they offer the best compromise between traction and street manners.

If it isn't your DD or you have a second set of wheels the MT ET Streets are great as are the M&H Racemasters.

Not sure if you have tried the Street Radials but their is no comparison to them against the E/T Streets. I have both and the E.T streets suck on the long end and around curves compared to the Street Radials.

Maybe the P275/40R17 would work then?

I was talking about the radials. If you will be driving the car to the track those are the way to go.

I imagine the 275/40 would be the best size, but I'm not too sure about how big of tires you can run on a fox without rubbing.

Gotcha. They get confusing since they have E/T Streets and E/T Street Radials. That and I am getting old as hell and confuse myself at times.

I think bf goodrich makes some for 17" rims... there was an article in MM&FF a year or so ago and I remember the guy had some DR's on some 17 or 18" FR500 rims

275/40/17 MT ET street radials. No traction issues ever, 10 times more stable than ET street bias plys.

500 hp and I could still put it to the floor in 1st without spinning ON THE STREET. In fact, I had to dump the clutch in 1st in order to spin them at all and even then it was hard to do a burnout without pushing the car forward.

Best tire currently made for racing and street use IMO.

Switching from ET streets bias ply on a 15 inch rim 26 x 10.5 to ET street radials 275/40/17 made the car 5/10ths faster in the quarter even with significantly heavier wheels.

yes...MT drag radials are made in most sizes for wheels from 15 in to 19 or 20 inch.
