Strange Idle

Well my car was not idleing correctly so i did the base idle reset and it idles great now, except for one thing. After its been running for about 5 mins, it will idle up at 1600 and not go back down. i have to restart the car in order for it to idle correctly again. At first i though it was just the computer trying to learn the new idle set up but its been a few days now and its still doing it.

any ideas?

Check for a vacuum leak and look at your IAC motor.

i checked for vacuum leaks
it does it with the a/c off so not the iac
possibly a bad ecu but doubt it
tps is at .99
i dont know how to check the o2 sensors
timing is at 12^adv
I live in florida and its still getting in the 90s

the strangest part about the whole deal is when its idling bad, I can turn the key off and on real fast(just enough to kill the ign for a split second) and it startes idling fine again.

I freaking hate efi!!!

anyone else have any ideas?

::edit:: btw, i ran the codes on it and only got smog related codes.

I got the same problem on my 91 I can't figure out what the problem might be, got new IAC, oxigen sensors, new vaccum lines, tps sensor and the problem still there.

i would say it probably is ur ecu or the oxygen sensors. If it dosent go back down after you clean your tps the check your ecu. It also might be a compter problem.

Check the IAC and it's wiring you could have a short somewhere that is causing the IAC to be commanded open more than it should be. start at the IAC and test the wiring all the way to the computer.
