what does this mean???


okay so this morning i started my car up and the check engine light came on blinked 4 or 5 times and the car started idling around 1400-1600 rpms. So i cut the car off, started it back up in a few seconds. And it was fine. Any ideas???

had a friend tell me that, it just means a random misfire and its no big deal if it stopped once it stopped doing it. any truth to that??? i've searched alot of posts on here and couldn't find anything.

mmmm rough idle can be due to a bad maf or throttle pos. sensor, i cant see a missfire causing a high idle

kinda my thoughts....i've been having some problems with the MAF. due to oil from a K&N filter getting on it

high idle could be any number of things from a stuck IAC valve, to a vaccum leak.
