Any trick to installing this firewall adjuster?

So I got this double locking firewall adjuster, is there any special way to install this or anything? I've never had a Mustang or done anything to one, and wanna make sure I get this put in right the first time. The car has an adjustable cable on it, and will have a Steeda quadrant on it before I'm done, just looking to get this part of the equation knocked out correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Crawl under your steering wheel.
find the quadrant
pull up on the pedal
at the same time, turn the quadrant twards the engine
lightly use your index finger to unhook the cable from the quadrant
unscrew the hold down on the firewall(inside the engine bay.

Well the cable is already hanging loosely from the firewall, so do I install this thing with the big twisty nut end in the engine bay, or on the other side? i guess it doesn't really matter but id hate to get it wrong and have to redo it after the car is back together.
