Cost to Rebuild GT40Ps? typical costs?

I am in the process of getting started rebuilding my 87 5.0. Im want to add gt40p heads and am just trying to figure out cost of getting them rebuilt. I see some remanufactured ones on ebay but would like to figure out what it would take to refresh them here. Im in Canada so it makes everything more expensive. Would like some twist wedge heads but 1200 plus 200 shipping=1400 us is 1680 can plus tax so 1780 plus ups brokerage charges so just not that reasonable. Any input appreciated.

120 for a valve job with seals, cleaning. . . 120 for springs, they will charge extra if they have to drill and put new guides in. I'd say 500 canadian dollars all said and done with gaskets and all.

Well the canadian dollar on way back up, but in general we get screwd in canada buying consumer goods. Any performance shops in canada just crank up the price. I seen one with gt40x heads i think were 1300can, which is about the same but then the site says at 20 % due to dollar, what a joke. I seen some remanufactured gt40p on obay for around 500, prob not a bad deal.

search around...I found a pair of gt40 iron heads fresh from the machine shop, with valve job, new springs, and all new valves and such, $400 shipped to my door.

I did a little hand porting to them and they work well with my combo.

To rework my gt40p's it was about 500. That consisted of a 5 angle valve job, cleaning, milling, upgraded springs, machining for stud mounts, and guideplates...If I had to do it over again, i prolly would saved for some aluminums, considering I paid 175 for the heads.

Oh and Tony nice signature, lol!

LOL thanks.

And +1 to you. Sometimes better to save for aluminum heads.
