Finally Picker her up.

Hye guys thanks for all the info..I finally made the decision and went for the 89. I didnt want to jack anyones thread about getting their new ride so I started my own. But to the other guys who just got theirs...Gotta love these dam cars. Never knew how much fun they were and I love the fact that when you pull up on ricers...their butholes clench up in hopes you wont look thier directions. LOLOL. Sorry guys, its early.

Now thats out the way I need some idea...I will list what it has and leave a pic. I am not a mechanic but I can work on cars. Help me out. Thanks

Cobra upper and Lower intake
UDP's
3.73 gears
timing advanced 14*
BBK Shorties

HELP me get in the 12's without Boost or Nitrous.

how deep in the 12's you want to be?

high 12's get a set of gt40p heads have em freshend up and put em on along with a set of slicks and a good driver.

low 12's a trickflow trackheat intake stage 2 cam and twisted wedge heads. and stickey tires.

along with the proper supporting mods get rid of the clutch fan and put a tauras electric fan on it.

depending on what you want. get rid of as many pullies as you can ie,smog pump, water pump, power steering pump,ac.

get the car as light as you can with a fiberglass hood, rear seat delete, tubular k member, insulation in the car removed.

I went to be well in the 12's.....I will mid 12 for right now. And just build as I go, eventually putting another motor in it. But for right now to have some fun and be in the 12's.

I was thinking about the GT40 but I hear I have to get different headers to fit it. If thats the case then I was going to save up for some AFR's or Trickflows.
Got a guy who is going to sell me an electirc fan and some 1.7 RR's for 120.

With some DR's where do you think I am right now? Then with the Rockers?

Would you happen to know the belt size for UDP's and bypassing the AC?

It won't help your speed any but a nice new shiney 6 piece set of lights on the front of that will make it look MUCH better.
You can get a decent 6 piece set of factory replacements for about $90-120 from many different places.

I'd get a serpentine belt as well, yours seems to be missing

Start off by re-routing those plug wires. Belt ad plugging in the alt will help

LOL..Yea the belt actually split down the middle because the alternator pulley nut came out. Then the pulley moved freely, throw the belt out of alignment and split it. So I am reaplacing that. Trying to find the correct size with UDPs. Any ideas.

What would help with my speed that I can bolt on quick.
MAF with INjectors?Rockers? What would be quick and easy to throw on to help out. Lets say on a $500 budget. Thats atleast till I get paid.

I am buying another belt this weekend. Could get the right size and Autozone are soem retards. LOl..I mean really. But Stock belt will work, ok, thats cool.

I found a guy that is selling a pair of Longtubes and H-pipe for about 225 in good condition. How well will it react to that?

I can't tell from the picture but is the smog pump still on there? If not you will need a shorter belt. From memory, I think a 84.5 inch one but I may be wrong.

Ok. Well there is no belt right now. Have to pic it up. SO the 84.5 is the one with just the ac deleted? The belt that broke was a 1.5. SO I am assuming that he was bypassing the ac and smog. So is the 1.5 the one I need for that?

Just found this map..I was wondering why when I put a new belt on with out the ac and smog, why it was touching. According to the layout...If I removed the two the belt would rub. SO I guess I am going to have to run the ac or so. let me know what you think.

get some heads and maybe a cam,. there is nothing you can buy other than blowers or nitrous that will make a bigger improvement,.. get some suspension mods as well,. subframes, control arms etc,. those will lower your et's as well. Do away with the clutch fan like others said,. replace it with a taurus fan or some kind of electric and you can see around 10 horsies

Thanks Soldier..I wanted to put on ahood like yours...Looks good. Yea I got a good deal on this. There are a couple exterior things to clean up but overall nice car. Going to change out all the accessories like water pump, Alternator and so on. I have to take her on a 4 hour ride soon.

I see yours came ready to hit the strip already.
