Do you already have a rotating assembly?

why is it always the same damn questions over and over.. Yes a 150 will be fine.. i would recommend some forged pistons though.

you dont' need to do anything to your motor to run a 150 shot except to run good gas and retard the timing according to the instructions in the nitrous kit. i do suggest a fuel pump upgrade tho, it's cheap insurance @ 100 bucks also not mandatory but i'd get a colder set of plugs for a little bit of added insurance ( autolite 24s )

Would there be any tuning necessary? Or could you just run colder plugs, fuel upgrade and a 150(wet or dry) shot and your good?

take out 6 degrees of timing (2degrees per 50hp of nitrous=6 degrees for 150shot)get a walbro 255lph intank fuel pump for extra insurance and 1-2 step colder sparkplugs.now if you still have the factory 1993 pistons just hope they stay together

I ran a 200 shot on my 170,000 mile 5.0 with a TFS top end kit and had no issues for well over a year, going to the track every weekend.

Even better....I sold that short block to a college kid who put it in a daily driver that he built on the cheap...and to the best of my knowledge...it's still going.

The key to longevity with nitrous is to have a good tune, use good fuel, a good fuel pump, dont get greedy with the timing, and check your plugs often.

On the 200 shot....I would run my fuel tank close to empty and drop a few gallons of 110 octane race fuel in the tank once I got to the track.

On a 150 shot...Id just be sure to run my tank down and then top it off with a good name brand 93 octane (Cheveron, BP, or Shell). I also preferred to buy my pump gas from a newly built gas station to avoid any debris and water that is common in old gas station holding tanks.

Some might say its overkill....but Id rather spend a little on good fuel and not have to spend alot on a new short block.

Typically....the block will give up long before the rod bolts.

Dude I had 188,000 mile on my stock motor with over 20 bottle of nitrous with probably 10 of those at a 200 shot. I had zero problems. My motor did give but I was crusing down the freeway when it did. So i did a ghetto build for now hci, and a stock forged rotating assembly all together with new rings bearing gasket's i spent like 300 bucks on the rebuild. So far I've put 8 bottles of nitrous with a 200 shot on the re ringed motor with zero issues.
