Heat it up with a propane torch until the nut is glowing red, then take it off.
You may need an impact. If you break the bolt, just replace the mount. No big deal.

heat the bolt and then hit it with a spray bottle of cold water. are you using a 6point socket if you are and it is striping then you need a new socket.if it is a 12 point get a 6 point. if you have messed up the head of the bolt I think I would take to some one and have them take it out being you don't have the tools to do it. you can also hit the bolt when it is hot or cold with a hammer and punch some times that brakes them lose also. Heating the head of the bolt does not always work as the block is what is holding the bolt and heating the head lets the heat run down the bolt and that makes it expand. But then again some times it works

heating the bolt will help any corrosion holding it in to loosen up you can heat the area around the bolt too you get those torches in the pluming section of home depot i have one and it is asome. if you know anyone with a welder weld a socket on to it to break it loose. try to tighten it in there a little then try to loosen it. hitting it with a hammer can help wiggle it. do you have an impact on it? if not try to get on it might help vibrate it free. put a wrench on it and use a crow bar between the block and the wrench to budge it. these are all good ideas one has to work...

When applying torque while using an extension bar, make sure to apply "counter" force on the head of the ratchet to keep the socket aligned on the bolt head straight. Sounds obvious but it makes a big difference.

ive got a friends like 3 foot breaker bar now and a craftsman 6pt socket for it, i was using a 6pt cheap socket but its to dark now to see so im going to have to finish up tomarrow. does ne one know if im gona have to pull the starter to get that other bolt in the back off?
also the same friend has a gator bit thing that has little rods in it that is for stripped bolts so if a regular socket doesnt fit on there then im going to try that out so that it can sit at a slight angle and get a bite. |

you will strip a gator socket quick. those things are crap. go get the torch. dont waste your time with propane. get mapp gas. it should be the yellow bottle. it burns much hotter. heat it up glowing red if you can and then try to break it loose. and like everyone has said make sure to use a quality 6 point socket. good luck!

I used an impact on my 65, and it came out without any problems .. maybe worth investing in one? Or maybe an impact socket that won't strip at least?

If any sort of thread locker was used on that bolt you will have to heat it up to get it out...so just go get a torch already.
