increasing my mass air flow
I have installed the cobra upper and lower intake and was wondering if increasing my maf from stock to 70mm then my throttle body to 70mm with #24 injectors. Ihave 2 questions do i need to upgrade my fule pump from stock. then will all these mods effect my idle. Oh yea any timing ajustments involved.

Definately upgrade them now that you've got a better intake. You want a larger MAF than the throttle body though, by 5-10mm. Look for an 80mm maf to go with your 70mm tb (good choice in the 70mm). And of course upgrading the MAF and injectors is good timing as they go hand in hand.
Your fuel pump can meet the needs of your fuel system right now, but I'd at least get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you can adjust a/f as needed. Your idle will probably be affected alittle after the upgrades, but careful tuning of the fuel pressure will get things where they need to be. I'm sure some of the hardcore 5.0 guys here can get you started with a good base fuel pressure setting to start at. |

what im running with right now is the ford racing MAF conversion w/ the #24lb injectors. running BBK 190 fuel pump and aeromotive oversized fuel rails w/ fuel pressure regulator and running about 65 psi of fuel pressure and as far as i know you will not need to advance your timing or anything. if you would like to keep your fuel rails and up the fuel pressure psi you can get the BBK fuel pressure regulator w/ guage. it would run you about 90-100 bucks.
