I have a dozen Mustangs that we welded up the factory supports and none of them have given us any problems. over 100 passes in the wife's T-Top with 1.40 short times running low 10's in the 1/4.

My silver coupe same way but 1.42 short times on the back tires running mid-high 9's in the 1/4.

I have 9-10 more same thing same way and no issues.

I do have one car with the aftermarket kit welded in but it now has a 11.90 motor in it cutting 1.75 short times so they are doing no good at all where they are.

Good luck either way you decide to go.

I agree 100% with the knowledgeable Bug Man on boxes: If you find them before they're torn to shreds and misshapen so they look like a trapazoid, I agree with him that it's much preferable to weld extra strength to the stockers. But, if your original part is a loss, the the battle boxes will work to return the correct geometry of the of the control arms and strengthen them against flex. But, be aware they do add weight
