I had a king cobra clutch........ it held alright, but it ate clutch cables for breakfast..... I spent well over 1,000 bucks in the clutch, clutch quadrantS, clutch cableS, fork, TOB, TOB retainer and labor....I said FK IT.

So I bought a Centerforce DF clutch and it is AMAZING.

Centerforce clutches have a real nice pedal feel and the clamp really well but years ago I had several that had weights come off the pressure plate. I'm not sure if they fixed that problem or not. I used to use the King Cobra pressure plate and Centerforce dual friction disc and that worked very well. The RAM Powergrip clutches work pretty good too. If you are going to spend money on a flywheel, get a Fidanza aluminum flywheel.

Must have fixed the issue. That's what I'm using now. Trashed a high dollar Ram, put the used Centerforce back in to get by and then put in a new Centerforce, still no problems 2 years and counting.......

I have a king cobra in mine and I like it so far. My clutch pedal pressure did not change any from my stock clutch to the king cobra. Both are stiff. I'm used to it and don't even notice it. When I put my King Cobra in it was really stiff at first. I didn't think I would like it. Then after i drove it for a day it loosened up. Don't know why that happened but it works great now. I reused my flywheel I just had it machined for 25 bucks.

While the Centerforce is an excellent choice, the SPEC 3+ has been good for me. It held well enough to snap the input shaft on my TREMEC 3550 two week-ends ago. It holds better and has a MUCH softer pedal than the King Cobra. (As mentioned by others, I didn't have much luck with those, although some people do.)

Also, SPEC stands behind their product. I fried a new SPEC 3 to my new billet flywheel due to my own ignorance. Yet, when I explained my problem to SPEC, they swapped out the clutch for a SPEC 3+, at their manufacturer's price and also surfaced my flywheel while I had lunch, loaded me up with caps, shirts, and decals and sent me on my way. They told me, "our warranty is that we want you to have the right product and be happy with it."

So, while all the major manufacturer's make a decent product, my choice would be call SPEC, tell them how you intend to use the clutch, and go with their suggestions.

Good Luck,
Jim

Yeah, I have a Centerforce in one of my cars right now too that is a pretty high horsepower car. Not by choice, the clutch was kind of free so it was a no brainer. No problems as of yet. The problems I had were probably 10+ years ago so I'm willing to bet they have corrected any issues by now.

Yes but most of the aftermarket flywheels come with 28oz, 0oz and 50oz weights.
